mother and daughters doing well
i promised Jean a berry update ( although any can read if they like ) so here it is ...the mother plant ( first photo )in the bed on the east side of the yard is busy expanding population...there is a well established daughter along the southbound stolon ( second ) which terminates in the daughter i have pegged in the buried flowerpot ( third )...there is a northbound stolon as well ( fourth ) which also ends in a well developed daughter ( fifth )... it has taken root next to the second surviving import in the bed ( sixth ) and so any further growth along this stolon will have to be redirected to assure some reasonable spacing...finally, the wild natives are still bearing fruit ( seventh )...it is early yet...they went on into october last season...one suspects similar endurance for this year...more as anything of interest crops up.
